Vitamin C Arena is indicated in the treatment of scurvy or its prevention in the case of diseases that require an additional intake of ascorbic acid, when oral administration is not possible or the ascorbic acid deficiency is severe.

Contraindications:

Do not use Vitamin C Arena:

- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ascorbic acid or to any of the other components of Ascorbic Acid Arena.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Ascorbic acid is excreted in breast milk and crosses the placental barrier by a simple diffusion mechanism. The effects of high doses on the fetus are not known. Since the clinical data are insufficient, the drug can be administered (without exceeding the recommended dose) during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if absolutely necessary, as indicated by the doctor.

Administration method:

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Vitamin C Arena will be given to you by a nurse or doctor directly into a vein or muscle.

Treatment of scurvy:

Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents: 1 g(1000mg) per day (one vial).

Children: 10 mg ascorbic acid/kg and day without exceeding 300 mg daily

Preventive treatment:

Adults (including the elderly) and adolescents: 1000 mg per day

Children: 5 - 7 mg ascorbic acid/kg and day without exceeding 1000 mg daily

Vitamin C IV Arena 200 mg/ml, injectable solution

- The active substance is ascorbic acid. One ml contains ascorbic acid 200 mg.

- The other ingredients are: sodium hydroxide (as a 45% solution), sodium metabisulphite, water for injections
